To be eligible to get money back from your health care provider, you will need to have optical as part of your health cover. If you are unsure if your cover includes optical, or want to have optical as an extra, contact your health care provider to find out what plan best suits you and your eyes.
Many private health fund entitlements expire on the 31st December and do not carry over to the next year. Make sure you make the most of your entitlements; it would be a shame to pay premiums every year but not claim the entitlements that you’ve paid for.
If you have optical cover as part of your health care fund, your Australian health fund provider may supply a rebate on prescription contact lenses.
