Claiming Contact Lenses on Healthcare

You probably know that there are a lot of things that you can claim from your health fund provider, but did you know that some health funds may allow you to claim some or all of the cost of your contact lenses too? We think that’s a pretty good bonus, especially when you combine it with our cheap prices, quality products and fast shipping.

How do I know if I can claim my contact lenses?

To be eligible to get money back from your health care provider, you will need to have optical as part of your health cover. If you are unsure if your cover includes optical, or want to have optical as an extra, contact your health care provider to find out what plan best suits you and your eyes.

Many private health fund entitlements expire on the 31st December and do not carry over to the next year. Make sure you make the most of your entitlements; it would be a shame to pay premiums every year but not claim the entitlements that you’ve paid for.

How can I claim my contact lenses on my health care fund?

If you have optical cover as part of your health care fund, your Australian health fund provider may supply a rebate on prescription contact lenses. We will provide you with an itemised receipt as proof of purchase, along with health fund codes, many major health care funds will allow you to claim online so you can claim instantly, however you should always check with your health fund provider to find the best way for you to make a claim.
